Chicago's tim&micah Project Comes To FringeNYC 8/20-29

Chicagos_timmicah_Project_Comes_To_FringeNYC_20010101

the tim&micah project, a critically acclaimed Chicago-based avant-garde sketch comedy duo, has announced their participation in the 14th Annual New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC), where they will present the tim&micah project: SELECTION.

Far beyond a typical sketch comedy show, the tim&micah project takes audiences on a roller coaster of emotions and immerses you in a mind-bending non-stop theatrical experience. Writer/performer duo Tim Soszko and Micah Philbrook once again demonstrate "unbridled comic genius" (Centerstage Chicago) as they present an intelligent, original and meticulously planned revue full of silliness, physical feats of wonder, and surprisingly real moments. Doing away with the structural conventions of sketch comedy, their scenes morph into each other through dance and performance art transitions, weaving "a web of scenes straight out of a David Lynch fantasy" (Time Out Chicago). You never quite know what's real, or what to expect as the tim&micah project continues to defy convention and push the boundaries of sketch comedy.

"We're excited, thrilled and honored," blurted Tim Soszko. "You don't mess around in NYC. We're bringing our A game...or whatever is better than our A game."

"Chicago is the home of sketch comedy and no one there had seen anything like us before," mused Micah Philbrook, "so we're excited to see what NYC thinks!"

the tim&micah project: SELECTION at the New York International Fringe Festival

Friday 8/20 @ 8:30pm, Monday 8/23 @ 5pm, Wednesday 8/25 @ 3:15pm, Friday 8/27 @ 6pm, and Sunday 8/29 @ Noon.

The Robert Moss Theatre @ 440 Studios, 440 Lafayette St, 3rd Floor (between Astor Place & East 4th Street), New York City.

$15 advance tickets are available at FringeNYC.org or 866.468.7619. Tickets at the door are $18 for adults and $10 for children & seniors.

About the tim&micah project
Tim Soszko and Micah Philbrook have worked side-by-side improvising, writing, and teaching for many years and at many different places, including 6 years working as co-producers of the Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival. Out of their desire to bring inventive and distinct work to the sketch comedy scene, they created the tim&micah project. Their work has repeatedly won them critical acclaim, including Time Out Chicago recently giving them credit for one of the "Funniest Moments of 2009." Past revues include the tim&micah project: SHOW, the tim&micah project: SEQUEL, and the tim&micah project: CONTINUE. Tim Soszko also writes and performs with critically acclaimed Chicago troupes The Cupid Players, Bri-Ko, and The Deltones. He teaches all sorts of theatre classes with Second City, Barrel Of Monkeys, iO Chicago, Emerald City Theatre Co., Elmhurst Children's Theater, and Columbia College to name a few. Micah Philbrook has trained all over Chicago, taught all over the United States, performed all over North America, and traveled all over the world. He is Co-Artistic Director of pH Productions, a non-profit improvisation theater company, and is an adjunct faculty member at the Second City Training Center. Learn more at timandmicahproject.com.
