Dennis Grimaldi Productions (Nice Work If You Can Get It, Godspell, Angels in America) will present industry readings of the new musical fantasy, A Kiss From Alexander, Monday, May 21st at 1pm and 4pm at Shetler Studios, 244 W 54th St, #12 in Manhattan.

Denis Jones (Legally Blonde, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Broadway Bares) is directing and choreographing. Book and Lyrics is by Broadway and theatre veteran, Stephan de Ghelder. Music is by Brad Simmons, most recently musical director, Lysistrata Jones.

The cast includes Craig Ramsay (Bravo TV's 'Thintervention"), Matt Loehr (The Producers), Brian Childers (Danny and Sylvia) and Mark Price (Mama Mia), with Barry Busby,Travis Nesbitt,Tony Niedenbach and Cedric Lieba. Thomas Recktenwald is Stage Manager.

The show is described as "An Off-Off-Broadway musical featuring the historical Alexander the Great as an over-the-top, gay party boy gets back to him in the afterlife. Not amused, he returns to earth - as a temporary mortal - to right the wrongs created by attractive director/writer Nick Matthews. When boy meets demigod things are never what they seem in this romantic musical fantasy set in New York's contemporary theatre scene."

A Kiss From Alexander premiered at Chicago's Bailiwick Theatre, directed by David Zak, received raves from the critics and a JEFF NOMINATION for Best New Musical, 2005.

In 2007, a New York Showcase production starred Craig Ramsay who recreates his role here. The reading includes new material and songs. An Off-Broadway production is planned for a later date.

This is an Actor's Equity Approved reading.
