Lift the staff! Part the sea! We got nothing to do but be free! Celebrate Passover at 92YTribeca with Tablet Magazine's Everything's Coming Up Moses, a Broadway musical Passover parody. Everything's Coming Up Moses is a musical retelling of the Jews' flight from Egypt as seen through the larger-than-life journey of Moses, the original pushy stage mother. Through an irresistible blend of theatrical razzle-dazzle, old fashioned show biz moxie and soon-to-be classic show tune spoofs, Moses tirelessly shepherds the Children of Israel to the Promised Land—whether they like it or not. Everything's Coming Up Moses stars Seth Rudetsky (of "Broadway Chatterbox" fame) as Moses, Matt Cavenaugh (Tony from West Side Story) as Pharaoh and David Rakoff (the author and humorist) as God, plus Dan Fishback and Rachel Shukert. Written by Shukert (the brains behind Tablet and 92YTribeca's recent hit Broadway-style Purim shpiel, Don't Cry For Me Ahasuerus), directed by Michael Schiralli and with music direction by Bobby Peaco, Everything's Coming Up Moses is a production of Tablet Magazine (tabletmag.com), the daily online magazine of Jewish news, ideas and culture.

STORY PIRATES AFTER DARK
Story Pirates don't dress as pirates or make anybody walk the plank, but they do steal: they take their inspiration from kids themselves, creating an entire show adapted from stories penned by authors under the age of twelve. This literacy group's official mission is to "honor the words and ideas of young people" by offering a hilarious glimpse of the world as seen through the minds of kids. The edgy style of their sketch comedy musical—mimicking kids' own unfiltered logic—more closely resembles vintage Monty Python than Blues Clues.

John Lahr AND David Ives: THE CREATIVE PROCESS
Acclaimed author and Senior New Yorker Drama Critic John Lahr joins playwright David Ives, currently represented on Broadway with Venus in Fur, for a lively conversation at 92YTribeca on the art of creating new works for the stage. Ives has adapted 32 American musicals for modern audiences – and that’s just for the celebrated Encores! series. Lahr earned a Tony Award for co-writing Elaine Stritch at Liberty. Lahr and Ives explore the unique creative challenges in developing new plays and adapting existing source materials for the stage today. How much “poetic license” does a writer have with someone’s real-life story? How do you decide what to change and what to honor in an adaptation? Listen in as one of contemporary theater’s most celebrated playwrights and one of its most respected critics ponder these questions and generate lots of other quandaries.

For this installment of Behind the Music-al, see how these young musical theater composers are pushing boundaries by drawing musical inspiration from a wide variety of sources. What genres of music are fair game for the stage? How does using “non-traditional” music affect the format of a story? How can new music push our understanding of what musical theater can be? Join Chris Miller & Nathan Tysen (Burnt Part Boys), Brendan Milburn & Valerie Vigoda (GrooveLily, Striking 12), and Kyle Ewalt & Michael I Walker (Bromance: The Dudesical) and moderator Hal Luftig (Tony Award-winning producer) as they go out of bounds to explore the new frontier of the musical theater landscape.
