Everett Quinton to Reprise MEDEA at Phoenix Theatre Ensemble

Phoenix Theatre Ensemble, a resident theatre company now in its 9th season, will be presenting Everett Quinton in a staged reading of Charles Ludlam's "Medea" on Monday, March 18 at 8:00 PM at The Wild Project at 195 East 3rd Street. The reading is the concluding production of the Phoenix's "First Stories Festival" of Greek-inspired performances that includes the company's production of Electra and updated versions of The Trojan Women, Tauris (Iphigenia at Tauris)
along with Parados (dance and music presentations) and The Petting Zoo, a musical comedy improvisation group.

Ludlam's "Medea" will feature as Medea the redoubtable Everett Quinton (Drama Desk, Bessie Award, Obie, Drama League Award) who originated the role when he was Artistic Director of The Ridiculous Theatre Company in 1987. The reading will be directed by Jonathan Warman
and will feature Jolie Garrett as Jason, Craig Smith as Kreon, Regina Bartkoff as The Nurse, Tom Kopache as Aegeus, Go Mahan as The Messenger, Kevin Sullivan as The Tutor, and Charlie Schick as Khoregos. The performance will be followed by a talk-back with cast members and audience.
