FATC Presents LIFE OF GALILEO, Closes 7/31

FATC-Presents-LIFE-OF-GALILEO-20010101

Fordham Alumni Theatre Company, now in its fourth season, presents Life Of Galileo for a limited run at the Veronica Lally Kehoe Theatre, located at Fordham University's Lincoln Center Campus (113 West 60th Street at Columbus Ave.) Performances end on Sunday, July 31st. This new, provocative production features a 9-person ensemble playing over 50 roles and performing a vibrant new musical score.

The cast of Life Of Galileo will also perform on August 4th at The David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center as part of Lincoln Center's Target Free Thursday series.

Bertolt Brecht's Life Of Galileo pits astronomer Galileo Galilei against the Inquisition and proves
eerily relevant to the polarized political climate and the deep divides in American society today.
While pressed to echo Brecht's question of where we draw the lines of power in our own world, we
witness a young, brash Galileo, stripped down to the flawed man he was before he was polished by history and myth.

Ian Crawford (Providence at Times Square Arts Center) helms this daring interpretation of the
Brecht classic. Nate Weida, (Bluegrass band "Great Dog Almighty" and Off-Broadway's rock opera
New Hopeville Comics) provides the original score for the play, mashing up madrigals with cabaret to create the haunting musical landscape. Micah Bucey (Off Broadway: The Only Thing Straight is My Jacket) will lead the cast as Galileo. The ensemble features Jared McNeill (Peter Brook's 11 and 12, Young Jean Lee's The Shipment), Meg McCrossen ("Gossip Girl"), Soraya Broukhim (Living Theatre: Korach), R.J. Foster (Pearl Theatre Company: Hamlet), Graham Burk, Tommy Heleringer, Jake Loewenthal, and Steven Trolinger.

Life Of Galileo features scenic design by Kerry Chipman, costume design by Michelle Tarantina, lighting design by Jim Szekely, and puppet design by Christina Bryant.
The playing schedule is as follows: Thurs., July 14 at 8:00 p.m (opening night); Fri., July 15 at 8:00 p.m.; Sat., July 16 8:00 p.m.; Sun., July 17 at 7:00 p.m.; Weds., July 20 at 8:00 p.m.; Thurs., July 21 at 8:00 p.m.; Fri., July 22 at 8:00 p.m.; Sat., July 23 at 2:00 p.m.; Sat., July 23 at 8:00 p.m.; Sun., July 24 at 7:00 p.m.; Mon., July 25 at 8:00 p.m.; Thurs., July 28 at 8:00 p.m.; Fri., July 29 at 8:00 p.m.; Sat., July 30 at 2:00 p.m.; Sat., July 30 at 8:00 p.m.; Sun., July 31 at 2:00 p.m.

Tickets to Life Of Galileo are $18.00 and can be purchased at www.smarttix.com or by calling
212.868.4444.
