Full Cast and Creative Announced for Stable Cable Lab Co.'s THE EDEN PROJECT, 8/24-9/1

Theater for the New City & Crystal Field (Artistic Director) have announced the cast and creative team for the world premiere of THE EDEN PROJECT, a new play devised by Stable Cable Lab Co., directed by Seth Hamlin, and choreographed by KC Luce as part of the 3rd annual Dream Up Festival. THE EDEN PROJECT will begin performances on Friday, August 24, 2012 at Theater for the New City (155 First Ave. – between 10th & 11th Streets). The production is scheduled to run through September 1st.

In THE EDEN PROJECT, G.O.D. is a lonely drag queen and Adam and Eve exist in a picture-perfect 1950s paradise. All is swell until Adam's forgotten first wife, Lilith, lures them into a world of chaos and sin in a seductive nightclub.

THE EDEN PROJECT is unique from the other twenty-one world premieres featured in the festival because it is a devised, multi-faceted performance piece that was co-created by a nine-member ensemble. Act one operates linearly, and the audience is engaged in a more conventional style of theater viewing. In the second act (the post-Eden world), the rules are entirely different – both for performers and the audience. The audience must transform from a passive viewer and into active participants in the nightclub where they must choose which characters they want to follow. In order to learn "what happens next" audience members must take control over their own experience and navigate this new and unfamiliar territory, just like Adam and Eve.

The cast includes Lisa Jill Anderson, Emily Daly, Brian Edelman, Emmanuel Elpenord, Breanna Foister, Chelsea Gonzalez, Matt Helm, Cory Kosel, Matthew McGill, Sarah Fallon Moran, Cristina Pitter, Heather Lee Rogers, and Gillian Rougier.

The creative team features Doss Freel (scenic design), Bridget Gavlin (costume design), Isaac Winston (lighting design), and Zane Brzezinski (sound design). Catherine Fowles is Production Stage Manager.

The performance schedule is: Friday, August 24 at 9pm; Saturday, August 25 at 8pm; Sunday, August 26 at 5:30pm; Wednesday, August 29 at 6pm; Saturday, September 1 at 5:30pm. Tickets are $15 and are available through www.smarttix.com.

STABLE CABLE LAB CO. is an ensemble-based company of emerging theater artists who create experimental and multi-disciplinary works. Stable Cable Lab Co. originally rose out of a group of theater artists who met at the Hangar Theatre in Ithaca, New York. These original members then joined with several more artists working in the administrative offices of Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, and alumni from Brooklyn College's BFA acting program. Stable Cable, founded just over a year ago, has already undertaken several projects including the world premiere of Barter (Or, Stealing Other People's Credit Cards) by Emily Daly in the DC Capital Fringe Festival, Readings on a Roof (a reading series of new plays on a Brooklyn rooftop, featuring works by Diana Stahl, Michael Reyes, and Lauren Yee), a workshop production of THE EDEN PROJECT at the Bridge Theater, and The Coming World by Christopher Shinn at the Chashama Arts Space in Industry City, Brooklyn.

Seth Hamlin (Director) is a director and artist living in Brooklyn. He's had works in the People's Fest at Theatre 80 and Theatre for the New City. As a studio artist, he put an installation in the exhibition, "Positions of Conflict" at the Puck Gallery in 2011. Fellowships include a 2010-2011 Artist Residency with the Dershowitz Center where he directed The Coming World by Christopher Shinn and developed the interactive performance pieces "Self-Portrait" and "And Eat It, Too". He was one of the 2010-2011 NYU Emerging Jewish Artist Fellows and was a member of the Hangar Theatre Summer Lab Company. He graduated from NYU Tisch School of the Arts and studied Acting at the Stella Adler Studio.

Lisa Jill Anderson (Lilith) New York: Julia and Eric by Pulitzer Prize finalist Kristoffer Diaz (Rattlestick's Theaterjam Festival & the Cherry Lane Theatre with Barefoot Theatre Co.), The Coming World (Stable Cable), No One is Excused from the Trouble of Living (Shapiro Theater at Columbia Univ.), An Idiot (Crane Theater), Much Ado About Nothing (Theater Smarts), and The Children's Hour (Compassion Theatre Co.).
