THE ASSASSINS CHASE PINOCCHIO
Wednesday, April 27 - Saturday, May 14, 2011

A Multimedia Performance for Kids & Adults, by Max Dana
Based on Carlo Collodi's The Adventures of Pinocchio
Presented by Immediate Medium

Immediate Medium's psychedelic re-imagining of Collodi's original 1883 text is not your grandmother's Pinocchio. A mashup of original music, projections, live video compositing, masks, found objects and Italianate gibberish, The Assassins Chase Pinocchio fractures the storytelling tradition into an immersive multimedia experience for all.

Appropriate for children ages 4, 24, 34 and 104. (And those in between.)

Now through May 8

Tucked away in the old Archive Building on Christopher St., IRT is a grassroots theater development laboratory providing space, support and community to independent artists. Through its 3B Development Series, IRT offers radically affordable space residencies enabling artists to experiment, take risks and test drive new work before adventurous audiences and fellow creators. The 3B Series opens up a rare middle ground in New York's theater ecology between readings and full productions, creating a supportive environment for full-bodied exploration and iterative development. Kori Rushton and Ben Vershbow, curators.
