ICE CUBES STUDIO SERIES PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE

June 23 - 24
Commedia dell'Artemisia - Created by Stolen Chair Company, written by Kiran Rikhye and directed by Jon Stancato.

A masked farce in rhyming couplets satirizing the rape trial of Italian female painter Artemisia Gentileschi.

Stolen Chair is a theatre laboratory dedicated to the creation of playfully intellectual, wickedly irreverent, and exuberantly athletic original works.

June 30 - July 1
Be Story Free - By Kirk Wood Bromley ("Shakespeare on mushrooms!" - L.A. Weekly), featuring Matt Oberg (Onion SportsDome, Ugly Americans) and Steve Burns (Blues Clues), with videos by Leah Schrager and a live score by John Gideon.

Be Story Free is a "Story Addiction Destruction" seminar based on the methods of Dr. Jip Syuzhet in which scenes, speeches, shares, sights and sounds are used to free participants from primordial narrative infections.

Inverse Theater ("Best Downtown Theater Company" - NY Press) brings poetic plays to the people, for which it has garnered four Excellence Awards at the NY Fringe and the first Caffe Cino Award from the NY Innovative Theater Awards.

July 7 - 8
The Love Letter You've Been Meaning to Write New York - Conceived & directed by Jonathan Solari.

A reawakening for the New Yorkers who've taken home for granted, an affirmation for the new arrivals, and an appeal to the fools who've left.

July 14 - 15
Dead People - Created and directed by Everywhere Theatre Group, original text by Teddy Nicholas and Leah Winkler, video and sound by Chase Voorhees.

Typing on her laptop late at night, Beth's facade of humanity melts, revealing the inner cruelty she inflicts upon others and herself. Dead People fuses together elements of surrealism, dance, horror and cinematic video projections to uncover the darkness inside us that emerges when reality begins to deteriorate.

Everywhere Theatre Group is a New York based theatre company that has been collaboratively creating original plays that strive for unforgiving honesty since 2008.

July 21 - 22
Americans n' Indians - By Belgian artists Matthieu Sys and Yahya Terryn, created by the ensemble, co-directed by Kevin Doyle, presented by Sponsored By Nobody, in association with het GEIT (Gent, Belgium).

Plotting the trajectory of an American asshole.

Sponsored By Nobody is a Brooklyn-based theatre company committed to developing original work that is relevant to contemporary America. Founded in 2005, SBN has established a reputation in New York and Europe for presenting abrasive, engaging theatre while refusing to relinquish the idea of art as a catalyst for social change. "Hilarious satire of social norms which touches on everything that is wrong with America." - TimeOut NY.

July 28 - 29
Will Sing - By The Ma-Yi Theater Company Writers Lab (Samantha Chanse, Carla Ching, Mia Chung, Michael Lew and Qui Nguyen), directed by Ralph Peña, presented by Ma-Yi Theater Company.

An experiment in inappropriate singing.

Ma-Yi Theater Company is a Drama Desk and Obie Award-winning theater company dedicated to producing new works by Asian American Playwrights.

Last year, after eighteen years in Soho, the Obie Award-winning Ohio Theatre lost its space on Wooster Street, and went into residency at the 3LD Art & Technology Center. Under the banner Ohio Interrupted@3LD, they'll be producing Ice Factory 2011 at 3LD in June and July. In September 2011, they will open their new space in the West Village, called Ohio West.
