FROM CHICAGO - THE IMPROVISED SHAKESPEARE COMPANY! - Created and directed by Blaine Swen and starring Ross Bryant, Brendan Dowling, Greg Hess, Thomas Middleditch, and Blaine Swen

Theatre 80 on St. Marks, NYC

JAN 8th - 11th, 2011

After 6 sold-out shows during the UCB Theatre's Del Close marathon week last July, The Improvised Shakespeare Company returns to New York City for 4 shows at Theatre 80 in the East Village.

Based on one audience suggestion (a title for a play that has yet to be written) The Improvised Shakespeare Company creates a fully improvised play in Elizabethan style. Nothing is planned-out, rehearsed, or written. Each play is completely improvised, so each play is entirely new!

The Improvised Shakespeare Company has been performing its critically-acclaimed show every Friday night at the world famous iO Theater for over four years and continues to entertain audiences around the globe with its touring company. The ISC has been featured at the Piccolo Spoleto Fringe Festival, the Bumbershoot Music and Arts Festival, and the prestigious Just For Laughs festival in Montreal. It has been named Chicago's best improv group by both the Chicago Reader and the Chicago Examiner and has received a New York Nightlife Award for "Best Comedic Performance by a Group". The ISC was recently honored by the Chicago Improv Foundation as its "Ensemble of the Year".
