Jack Gindi's BEST FRIENDS Gets Reading at Shetler Studios' Theatre 54, 11/16

Jack Gindi's new play, Best Friends, will have a staged reading at 2:00pm on Friday, November 16th at Theatre 54 inside Shetler Studios. David Glenn Armstrong directs this four-person contemporary comedy/drama which stars Josh Adam Davis, Sarah Nedwek, Graham Powell, and Leah Wagner.

Gindi describes his exploration into the personal lives of four 30-something year old New Yorkers as "All best friends have a code. Whatever steps you take in life – your best friend's got your back. Sometimes you stumble - like when a pretty French girl – your dream girl - blows into town and knocks you off your feet. She wears heels. You never knew life could be so great. You also never knew your best friend likes heels..."

"It's a joy to dig deep into Jack's brutally biting and darkly salacious play," said Armstrong. "I love his 'take-no-prisoners' approach to telling this hysterical and out-of-control tale of the revolving door known as 'friendship' in the downtown hip environs of New York City."

Shana Solomon is the Associate Director. Adam Bashian will read stage directions.

Gindi made his feature film writing, directing, and producing debut with the romantic comedy "What's Your Sign?" which won the Audience Award at the San Antonio Film Festival, and the Director's Award at the Brooklyn Film Festival. Playwriting credits include Next of Kin (Aurora Stage, NYC);?The Watch (Ensemble Studio Theatre, LA);?and Oscar Buzz (Manhattan Theatre Source). Theatre directing credits include Danny and the Deep Blue Sea (Trilogy Theatre, NYC);?The Lost Language of Twins (Soho Rep);?Sue Costello's The Life & Times of a Band Fag (PS 122, Toyota Comedy Festival); On Becoming (Cape May Stage, New Jersey; Stonington Opera House, Maine; and the Cherry Lane Theatre, NYC). As an actor, Jack appeared in the film The Hard Way, and the CBS pilot Sporting Chance. www.SirenFilmsLLC.com
