LOVESICK or THINGS THAT DON’T HAPPEN begins performances on Friday, February 3 for a limited engagement through Saturday, February 25. Press opening is Thursday, February 9 at 7:30 PM. The performance schedule is Tuesday – Thursday at 7:30 PM; Friday and Saturday at 8:30 PM; and Sunday at 3:30 PM. Performances are at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues).

Amy gets dumped by Chuck right before prom. Susie and Stacy are bridesmaids and think the groom is gay. Brad and Doug have a bro-mantic moment in the elevator. Brian and Jessica wake up after a night only one of them remembers. LOVESICK or THINGS THAT DON’T HAPPEN is an uproarious collection of modern love songs and stories set on the most dreaded day of the year: Valentine’s Day.

LOVESICK or THINGS THAT DON’T HAPPEN features a cast of 14 actor/musicians including: Rian Alfiero; Joachim Boyle; Elizabeth Elkins (Sea of Tranquility at Atlantic Theater Company); Barrett Hall (Danny Elfman’s Only A Lad at the NY Fringe); Melissa Hammans; Pat McRoberts (Miss Saigon on Broadway); Michael Nathanson (The Lion King national tour); Andrew WilLiam Smith; Teresa Stephenson (Going to the River at EST); AiDan Sullivan (Project Y’s The Revival; Medea with Fiona Shaw on Broadway); Jeff Tuohy (F****ng Hipsters! at NYMF); Joe Varca; Jessica Varley (David Chase’s Twylight Zones); and Lisa Velten Smith (Spirit Control, MTC; After Miss Julie, Roundabout).

The set design is by Kevin Judge (Irena’s Vow on Broadway); the lighting design is by Joseph R. Skowronski and Ben Hagen (IT Award nomination for Best Lighting Design for The Revival); the costume design is by Emily DeAngelis. The Production Stage Manager is Lizzie Lee.

Michole Biancosino (conception and direction) is a co-Founder and co-Artistic Director of Project Y Theatre Company. Her production of The Revival at Theatre Row earned 7 NYIT Award nominations including Best Director and Best Production. With Project Y she directed In the Boom Boom Room, The Crackwalker, White Biting Dog, Lion in the Streets, One Flea Spare, Zastrozzi, Either/Or, and Gidion’s Knot as part of the New York New Playwright Festival. Michole recently directed the critically acclaimed Samuel Brett Williams’ Derby Day at Theatre Row for Camisade Theatre. She is a recipient of the prestigious SDC Gielgud Fellowship for Directing. She holds a B.A. from Middlebury College and an M.F.A. in Directing from Rutgers University.

Lia Romeo (playwright) earned her B.A. from Princeton and her M.F.A in playwriting from Rutgers. Her plays include Green Whales (premiered at Unicorn Theatre; currently at Renegade Theatre Experiment), Hungry (upcoming at the Unicorn Theatre and Stillwater Theatre), and Right Place, Right Time (Renegade Theatre Experiment and Stillwater Theatre). Her plays have also been read and developed at the Kennedy Center, Playwrights Theatre of New Jersey, New Jersey Repertory Theatre, Kitchen Dog Theatre, Abingdon Theatre, and elsewhere. Her humor book, 11,002 Things to Be Miserable About has sold close to 30,000 copies. Her first novel, Dating the Devil, is in development as a TV movie at ABC Family.
