Photo Flash: First Look at Paden Fallis in 4th Street Theatre's THE PLAY ABOUT THE COACH

The 4th Street Theatre will present the New York Premiere of the critically acclaimed one-man show, The Play About The Coach, written and performed by Paden Fallis and directed by Tamara Fisch. The Play About The Coach runs from February 27 to March 17, 2013 in a limited engagement at the 4th Street Theatre, located at 83 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery in New York City. Previews begin February 27 for a March 2 opening. BroadwayWorld has a first look at Paden Fallis onstage below!

In the final three minutes of the defining game of his career, a coach's world comes crashing down around him. As the clock ticks away the coach comes head-to-head with a backstabbing assistant, a gifted adversary, a God-like referee and a mysterious stranger who repeatedly phones down to the bench - all the while trying to pull his team through to victory. The Play About The Coach is a thrilling one-man show that takes the audience into the final, crucial minutes of a high stakes game through the eyes of a desperate man.

The design team includes Tim McMath (Set Design), Gillian Wolpert (Lighting Design) and Gerry Marletta (Sound Design). Tzipora Kaplan is the Production Manager and Michael Joseph Ormond is the Stage Manager.

Paden Fallis (Writer/Performer) has performed The Play About The Coach at the 2008 Philadelphia Fringe Festival, the 2009 Out of the Loop Festival in Dallas (awarded Top Touring Production for the 2008-2009 season by the Dallas-Fort Worth Theatre Critics Association) and the 2012 Capital Fringe Festival in Washington DC. His second one-man show, Dark at the End of the Tunnel, played at the Out of the Loop Festival in Dallas and NY's United Solo Festival on Theatre Row. His New York credits include The Phantom Lady (Pearl Theatre) and The Master Builder (The Century Theatre), and performances at The Players Club, The Kitchen, Stand Up New York and the PIT. As a writer, Paden's short story Don't Let Them [Bite] was published on Haggard and Halloo and his story 1342 County Road, was part of artist Justin Adian's exhibition Come and Take It at the Blackston Gallery in 2012. Paden also works as a performing arts contributing editor for Stated Magazine.

Tamara Fisch's (Director) credits include On the Tenth Floor by Thomas Bradshaw (Partial Comfort), Mort by Lucy Boyle (F*it Club), Race by David Mamet (Artists Repertory Theatre), The Playwright Killer by Jonathan Caren, Lucky Star and Soul Searching by Nick Jones at #serials @ The Flea, Stephen Karam's Emma (PPAS) and The Scene by Theresa Rebeck (Portland Playhouse). Her EST credits include In Memory of Julie Simmons by Erica Saleh and In Transit by Anna Kerrigan. She directed new plays by Annie Baker, Amy Herzog and Branden Jacobs-Jenkins in Missed Connections NYC (ArsNova). Her Williamstown Theatre Festival credits include Amy Herzog's After the Revolution and Hungry. She holds a BA from Yale and an MFA from the University of Washington School of Drama. She was a 2008 director-in-residence at EST and a 2009 Bill Foeller Directing Fellow at WTF, and is a Drama League Directing Fellow and a Partial Comfort company member.

Performances are Wednesdays - Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 3pm with an added show on Mon 3/11 at 7:30pm. Tickets are $18 and can be purchased online at www.SmartTix.com or by calling 212-868-4444. The running time is 1 hour.
