Spellbound was conceived in the Cayman Islands as a musical for audiences of all ages by Paul J. Deakin & Christian De Gré. Told through the eyes of young, talented Herianne, the musical fable addresses issues of equality, relationships, terrorism, greed, dictatorship, power, love, and the importance of family. It explores the pursuit of truth and inner courage, set in a world of wizards, witches, and warlocks

After the massacre of her village, Herianne embarks on a journey through a mystical land to rescue her family and fulfill her life-long ambition to become a Grand Wizard. Accompanied by her mentor and three ‘Teachers of the Scrolls,' Herianne must overcome the evil that enshrouds the land of Dragnor and confront the malevolence that seeks to devour her innate power. With time and a conspiring foe against her, Herianne is forced to choose relationships wisely as she completes her passage from adolescence to womanhood. In a final battle of good versus evil, events beyond her control, Herianne realizes that great reward often comes at great sacrifice.

Spellbound: A Musical Adventure is being presented at the New York International Fringe Festival by Mind The Art Entertainment, which produced the 2009 critically acclaimed New York International Fringe production of May-December with the Nose and Clammy, and Robert R. Blume, a veteran New York theatrical producer who has been Executive Producer of the annual Drama Desk Awards since 1999.

Mind The Art Entertainment is a New York City based collaborative arts & entertainment company whose mission is to promote, enhance, workshop, and produce new work and talent in the arts. It is a company firm in the belief that the modern arts, in all their varieties, should be used not just to entertain but also to inspire, teach, reach out and enhance their own art forms. This past May 23, they successfully hosted the reception at the 55th Annual Drama Desk Awards at the F.H. LaGuardia Concert Hall at Lincoln Center.

Robert R. Blume, a theatrical/entertainment producer for over 25 years, has just completed his 12th year as Presenter/Executive Producer of the annual Drama Desk Awards. Currently he is a Producing Partner on a worldwide multi-media entertainment project promoting peace through music , entitled The Awakening, in development with the Duke Ellington Center For The Arts and Mercedes Ellington; producing Blacker by Russ Weatherford, a new play dealing with The Dreyfus Affair and its relationship to Oscar Wilde, which he plans to open on the British stage at the end of 2010 prior to its American debut; and a co-producer of the current production of the former worldwide hit musical Let My People Come. He is proud to be associated with Mind The Art Entertainment on this New York International Fringe Festival production of Spellbound: A Musical Adventure.
