The Bushwick Starr Theater Presents COVERS , 9/6-9/9

The-Bushwick-Starr-Theater-Presents-COVERS-96-99-20010101

The Bushwick Starr and Katy Pyle present Covers, by Katy Pyle with Jules Skloot. In this evening length cabaret of forms, Pyle and Skloot shape-shift through a series of queered archetypes in a continual effort to see and be seen through layers of shame and loneliness. Performing beneath quilts, they cover and transform songs, dance styles, and contemporary performance tropes, inhabiting and discarding roles in an amorphous landscape of shifting identity and perception. Text by Francis Weiss Rabkin. Music contributions from Erica Livingston, Margot Bassett, and Katie Workum.

Location:

The Bushwick Starr theater: 207 Starr Street, Brooklyn, NY [between Irving and Wycoff]

Directions:

Via Subway take the L Train to Jefferson Street, exit at Starr Street, walk against traffic on Starr, and the theater is 3/4 of a block on the right.
For detailed driving directions visit: www.thebushwickstarr.org/DIRECTIONS

Tickets are $15.00 at: brownpapertickets.com/event/265110

"...luscious movement and often hilarious absurdity." - The New York Times

"Mixing elegant movement with a dramatization that extends to humor, Pyle maintains the classical style of a ballet while her choreographic tone is charged, witty and pointed." - BOMBLOG
