On Monday, November 8th at 8 p.m. we get to know our waitress. In her one?woman show, aptly named 86'd - a term used in restaurants when the kitchen is out of something ?? Diana Arnold explores the world of New York City restaurants. Arnold intertwines her years of service experience with the autobiographical retelling of life with a handicapped father living with Cerebral Palsy.

Under Eric Tucker's direction, best known for his work at the Cherry Lane Theatre and Shakespeare and Co. last year, 86'd is structured like a three course meal. This narrative touches upon the difficulty of reconciling life within a restaurant with the life that occurs outside of one. Arnold's audience is left asking: who is really serving who? Both poignant and comedic, 86?d is told in a unique style of conversational poetic verse with internal rhyme that draws its audience in and shows us how restaurants have truly saved this server's life.

Diana Arnold is a writer/actor trained at NYU Tisch and The New School. She has performed solo work in New York City and around the country for several years. She is most notably an original cast member of and contributor to The Birthright Israel Monologues show. She is currently a server at Momofuku.

United Solo Theatre Festival is an annual international festival for solo performances held in New York City. Through a diverse range of one-person shows, we explore and celebrate the uniqueness of the individual. From openly solicited submissions, we stage the most intriguing productions at the highly acclaimed Theatre ROW in the heart of the New York City theatre district on 42nd Street. Highly experienced performers and untried new talents have opportunities in many categories (e.g. storytelling, puppetry, dance, multimedia, improv, stand-up, magic, drama: tragedy or comedy). The artists also benefit from being presented by United Solo, a company made up of artists and producers with vast experience in solo performance.
