With big thanks to our dev team, we're all excited here today to unveil a long-overdue visual and back-end update to the message boards which should now be prettier, more mobile/iPad friendly and speedier...

I think the slightly grayer background made it easier on the eyes, too.
The lighter color (almost white now) makes it tough to browse for too long.

I am also unable to read the messages as the page progresses. I'm having to copy, cut and paste into another document to see the message after three or four entries.

I'm not having any problem reading longer threads. I appreciate the lighter background. I don't think I'm "old" but I don't count as "young" either. I think it looks a little more "dramatic" - but the "latest headlines" look awkward.
BTW, the change happened while I was reading and going "back to the message board" - For a minute, I thought there was a problem with my browser until I realized it was a site redesign.

I am not having any trouble with reading it or font size, but I do miss the thread titles being bold so that I knew at a glance whether or not there was a new post in a thread I was following.

Rob - how do you read back through posts on previous pages of a thread? If a thread opens on page 3 and I want to see what was posted on page 2, there's no page numbers on the top of the thread. I'm stuck reading only the posts on page 3.

BlueMoon, I came in to post about the same thing. There are page numbers when you're on the first page of a thread, but once you go to any other page, you have no way to navigate except going back to the first page again and navigating from there.

I find this harder to read and browse. It just seems messier. The "news feed" at the top of the page just seems jumbled and hard to read each title.

One last picky-picky ...
It would be great if the spacing between lines (aka leading) could be a little bit bigger (not a lot). It's sort of crowded now in longer posts ... again, making it difficult to read. If it could be increased very slightly it would help.

The mobile version is now back in action too... We have a new app in the works also that's a few weeks away from being ready that will run natively and add all the usual app features we've all been missing for all platforms.

I'm finding that I occasionally get a nice new board design, but more often than not I get a real hash of almost illegible and poorly laid out lines of text.
And the banner at the top is a mess -- I see all of locations for all of the American national tours, which means I have to scroll way way down to see the boards.

The new BWW looks great and is just as easily navigable as the old, but I will agree on the bright white background. It's a little tough on the eyes when reading for a long time.

We've increased the line spacing ever-so slightly on the text, and switched from a bright white to an off white as well.

I just posted on two threads on the OT board, and my writing appeared to be center-aligned, rather than left-aligned.
Also, I couldn't italicize or bold words.
I agree with harder to read. But, I'll admit to being old.

Actually, the main board seems to be better than the OT board.
The spacing on the OT board also seems to be cut off slightly at the top?

Rob, the new Board seems overly sensitive to the touch on my IPad--as I scroll down, it frequently jumps to items I don't want to see, and I have to start at the beginning all over again. Very annoying.

Is there now a way to go to the last unread message in a thread? I've never been able to find that feature here, I've had to just keep clicking through pages until I find a new post. I tried clicking on the little envelope but that just takes me to the first post. Am I doing something wrong??

You can jump to the last page by clicking on the 'last comment' column of the board.
We've also just made a slew of updates to the mobile board, which should now load 4-6 times faster.

Rob, don't change the 'clicking on the last column' feature to only show the last comment. It's nice to see the last few comments, so people can try not to be redundant. Though, I'm sure that won't stop anyone.

Definitely like it, but one thing I'm noticing:
On the really big threads (like the Smash thread with 53 pages now), if you go to the first page, it lists the page numbers as "1 2 ... 2 3 4 5 6 7 8" instead of something like "1 2 ... 50 51 52 53," which is what it used to do. A few of the first pages, skipping to a few of the last. I found this helpful when catching up on big threads like that, and would love to see it working again.

Oh! Another thing I just noticed: if you click on the "last comment" link instead of the main thread title, it doesn't change the coloring to mark the thread as read. Took me a few to figure out why I kept reading the same last comment over and over again because It thought there was a new post.

The page number issue has been resolved so it will now show you a snippet of the first/last page numbers.
We've also tweaked the main page to tighten up the spacing a bit, and further speed the load time.
Posting a reply should now pick up the last subject line as well.
And, optional links are now properly spaced again.

looks great on my computer but the message board is not working on the mobil app on my iPhone. If I try and go to the message board I get an error page and it brings me to the homepage of the website.

The redesign looks great, but whenever I post an image in the optional image bar with no body text, the image shows up in the same box as the thread title. A quick fix is to just link to the image in the body field and it shows up normally under the thread title and grey bar, but there might be a bug or two in the code.

Sometimes about halfway down a page in a thread everything becomes italicized. The posts, the poster's names, all of it.

Also on the topic of coding, every BWW TV and Broadway Beat video, when played in full screen using the BWW player, is stretched in disproportionate dimensions
the height is longer than it should past 16:9.
