Somehow I wound up with the three Drowsy Chaperone Marquees from the Broadway show. The sign 65.5" high and 167" wide. I am trying to sell these off within the next few weeks as I need to move them out of a warehouse.
Also have a broadway stage chandelier (no idea where its from) and it looks like a flying monkey cutout (maybe be from wicked)
I think that marquee is cool, but what is one really supposed to do with it? I can't imagine plugging it in to a standard outlet without blowing up the entire fuse box!
I think it's just one of those things that, out of necessity, had to get tossed. No one likes to think about that (God knows I always hated the moment when I saw my scenery toted off to the dumpster), but it's just a fact of life.
I thought I had someone to buy the last two marquee signs but they kept stalling and it seems like they backed out. if anyone else has any interest please e-mail me hihofinK@gmail.com
The Drowsy Chaperone Marquee has a nice home in Arizona. It is fully functional, but if you plugged in all the circuits at once, Phoenix would have a blackout! One day I'll get my amps upgraded... Had to repair some of the neon but it was cheaper than I thought to do. The sign must have cost over 20 grand to build -- got it for a HUGE bargain, even having it shipped!
Anyway, if you just light up 1 of the 6 zones it gets pretty hot!
Still have two left. I've had a few people now basically say they are buying them (one guy even left a deposit) and then walk away because they are big. Nonetheless, if anyone else has any interest in the remaining two original signs please e-mail me at hihofink@gmail.com
