One of my friends won the lottery last Wednesday, and he said that he got a partial view seat. No one told him at the lottery or box office that it would be partial view, and apparently it was pretty bad - he said he could only see about 33% of the show. Not sure if all of the lottery seats are like this....

Hmm, I hope they're not all like that. Anyone else know more?

I was in row F at the end of the row, so yes they are a little partial view. I was able to move up a row into somehwere in the middle of the row, but with the way the show has been selling i doubt most can do that. But, I feel like all rushes and lottos are expected to be partial view so it shouldn't be a huge surprise.

Selling Out???

Then why was it up at TKTS several times last week at 50% off?

Yes Newsies may be on tkts for 4 performances a week, but realize Disney is giving them maybe 70tickets to sell out of 1200, so it is still selling out, as seen in its grosses, but if you notice it isn't making 100% of its total profit because it's selling let's say 300 a week for 40% off through tkts, it is still selling out it is just doing that with the help of tkts

The best availabilty is Mondays and Wednesday plus the odd Sunday Evening performance which is not unusual as weekdays during the non holiday period tend not to sell as well compared to the weekend unless its a blockbuster like The Lion King or Wicked but the show's still doing great business and likely grossing well over its weekly nut.

The pairs of seats are the extreme sides of the orchestra. The farther back you are, the less you miss. However, I was in row C and would say at most I missed 30%.

However, it seems each performance they have a different number of seats available. Many of the last pairs to be given out are split apart and seem to be random single tickets left over at the box office. I won the lotto a second time and claim to have gotten the best seat in the house. It was row FF, dead center mezzanine (the first seat next to the entrance staircase). When asked how I managed to get this great a seat, the usher told me the seats they give out at the lottery are "all over."

It seems to me they give at least 28 seats worth of side partial seats (14 Orch R, 14 Orch L) and anything else will be anywhere in theater.

Heh, well, I won today... and I was in row OO of the mezzanine, the last seat to the right, heh. I literally couldn't have been further back or further over. But I didn't miss any of the action?

I won tonight and was one of the last names called. I was in Row E, seats 18 and 20 (with my friend). They were the last two seats on the row. I was in 18, and could see about 70% of the show, but I've gotta say, my poor friend, being one seat, saw about 50%. Due to the balcony overhang, the angle, and the speakers in the way, the one seat made a huge difference. It was worth the $30, but honestly, I'm happy I have full view tickets in a few months, because I lost a lot of what was happening.
