I bet if anything Jessica will be playing Cassie, she has been doing it here, there, an everywhere after the revival closed. I'd actually be super excited if she did it. Her Val was nothing less than perfect.
I was going to hold off until a casting announcement but I just bought my tickets since tickets seem to be going kind of fast. By the way, the Paper Mill has a display so that you can pick your seats and see what's available (like Ticketmaster) and it looks very good. Amazing how they seem to be able to run their site better than a huge company like Telecharge.
Jessica Lee Goldyn WILL be playing Cassie in A Chorus Line at Papermill!!!!!!!!!!! I was there when she congratulated Manuel Santos who apparently will be playing Paul and she told him she'll be playing Cassie. I am beyond excited to see her dance it live. I also heard Rachelle "Sass" Rak will be playing Shiela. This production is not to be missed!!!!
I didn't realize she was so young - Wikipedia lists her as being born in 1985, which makes her 26 or 27 (of course, Wikipedia could be wrong). I think she can play older though. I'm no expert on A CHORUS LINE, but I don't think Cassie is supposed to necessarily be as old as Charlotte d'Amboise was in the recent revival (Charlotte was over 40). According to this website, Goldyn is at the lower end of the age range: http://www.stageagent.com/Shows/View/689
Kelly Bishop lives in South Orange, NJ, which is about 10 minutes from the Papermill. I wouldn't mind if she happened to attend the same performance as me.
What a great line up! Will definitely try to see this. Nikka is great, as are Kyle Brown, Jessica Lee, J Manuel and Gabrielle Ruiz. Also cool to see Mark Myars back in a show instead of just dance supervisor. And of course, seeing Rak take on the part will be pretty interesting!
