Book-It Repertory Theatre has announced its 2022-2023 season of plays, scheduled to begin September 21. Their 33rd season is a slate of four in-person mainstage productions, to be performed at Center Theatre at Seattle Center, and four titles in the arts education season, to be performed in schools.

Main Street Theater (MST) has extended its production of the English-Language Premiere of Aunt Julia and the Scriptwriter, based on the novel of the same name by Nobel Prize winner Mario Vargas Llosa. Obie Award winner Caridad Svich’s boisterous, zany romantic comedy will now play through June 12.

One of the actors I've had the pleasure of seeing blossom in the theatre world is University of Houston student, Mike Sifuentes. Repertorio Español will premiere the stage adaptation of Eva Luna by Caridad Svich based on the celebrated novel of the Chilean-American writer Isabel Allende. The new production will be directed by the Colombian-American director Estefanía Fadul and will premiere on Friday, June 3rd, 2022, at 8 pm on the iconic (Gramercy Arts Theatre) stage.

'La Casa de la Laguna' is a fascinating and thoughtful play, and carefully balances delicate conversations about statehood and independence, race, colonialism, and socio-economic status, and gender. The result is a deeply political and nuanced production that touches on issues that are as relevant today as they were in the mid-twentieth century.
