Cino Nights - The purchase of a book or poster gets you into this one-night only, site-specific theatrical event at Larry Edmunds Bookshop. New York's Rising Phoenix Repertory reprises its popular series in Los Angeles for the first time with seven commissioned, short, world premiere plays - all set in the bookshop - from some of theater's top contemporary writers. All proceeds go to the bookshop.
CWRU CPH MFA Program Offers Immersive Production Of THE SEAGULL

The Case Western Reserve University/Cleveland Play House MFA Acting Program is proud to begin their season with a modern reimagining of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull. Chekhov's classic play about artistic rebellion, translated by Paul Schmidt, will star the MFA Class of 2020 and guests. Director Sarah Wansley's staging will shed light on the show's poetic realism. Press opening will be on October 9th at the Helen Theatre in Playhouse Square and the show will run from October 10th-October 20th.
NNPN Welcomes Silk Road Rising, Company One, And City Theatre Company To The Core Membership

National New Play Network (NNPN), the country's alliance of professional theaters that collaborate in innovative ways to develop, produce, and extend the life of new plays, has added three new Core Members: Silk Road Rising (Chicago), Company One (Boston), and City Theatre Company (Pittsburgh). As of the date of this release, NNPN has 114 Members Theaters, comprised of 32 Cores and 82 Associates.

The co-producers behind The Kilbanes' Weightless, a hit rock opera-retelling of Ovid's Metamorphoses, as well as New York's Obie Award-winning The Tricky Part and Lucille Lortel Award-winning All the Rage, return to San Francisco with a new production of A Lesson From Aloes, to be presented at Z Below. Written by internationally-acclaimed playwright Athol Fugard and directed by Obie Award winner Timothy Near, this inventive revival will feature a star-studded cast of regional theatre's finest actors. National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, celebrates the opening of its 81st Rolling World Premiere (RWP): Nomad Motel by Carla Ching. The Roll kicks off at Member Theaters City Theatre Company (May 18-June 3 in Pittsburgh), followed by Horizon Theatre Company (September 28-October 21 in Atlanta), and Unicorn Theatre (January 23-February 27, 2019 in Kansas City, MO). Nomad Motel was presented at NNPN's 2016 National Showcase of New Plays, hosted by the Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of Texas at Austin.

The lineup of writers has been announced for 'Expecting (The Worst)', a night of new plays at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater on February 27th at 7pm. The night will feature new works written by Kara Lee Corthron ( AliceGraceAnon at New George's), Jessica Dickey (Steppenwolf's The Rembrandt ) , Brett C. Leonard ( The Long Red Road at The Goodman Theater) , Ren Santiago ( The Siblings Play at Cherry Lane) and Daniel Talbott ( Slipping at Rattlestick). Casting will be announced at a later date.
Pocono Mountains Theater Company Announces New Venue Partnership

Pocono Mountains Theater Company has confirmed three performances of Jessica Dickey's 'Row After Row' have been booked at Red Stag Pub in Bethlehem. Performances at the Red Stag pub will be Tuesday evenings at 7 PM, May 8th, 15th and 22nd. Row After Row will be the 1st production of PMTC's 2018 season. Red Stag Pub is in addition to the previously announced performances at Siamsa Irish Pub in Stroudsburg. Other venues in Milford, Delaware Water Gap, and Buck Hill Falls are in Development.

Due to popular demand, Steppenwolf Theatre Company has twice extended its widely loved Chicago premiere production of The Rembrandt written by Jessica Dickey and directed by Hallie Gordon. Joe Dempsey joins the cast as Rembrandt/Henry in this subtle and elegant play, replacing ensemble member Francis Guinan who is currently in rehearsals for Steppenwolf's next production, The Minutes. The Rembrandt, hailed as humorous and enlightening (Broadway World) with powerful performances...both satisfying and profound (Daily Herald), continues through November 11, 2017 in the Upstairs Theatre, 1650 N.
