It's theater boiled down to its essence. Sixty Seconds from lights up to lights down. The much-anticipated short-form theatre festival comes to San Francisco in partnership with new play development center Playwrights Foundation! Curated by Dominic D'Andrea, the program will present over 80 plays all under sixty seconds by some of the most exciting emerging and established writers in the American Theatre

On Friday February 26th and Saturday February 27th, Melanie Hopkins and Rob Shapiro present HE WHO LAUGHS LIVE, an evening of scenes and stories from Isaac Oliver's blog which chronicles his life as a gay playwright in New York, 'fighting off causticity daily, clinging to compassion and turns of phrase,' not to mention lots and lots of coffee.

The Fordham University Alumni Theatre Company announced the details of its second annual production, ONCE THERE WAS A BOY, a new play by Jason Pizzarello. The production is a collaboration of thirty Fordham University alums, including Pizzarello and director Aaron Rhyne, and will begin its special limited engagement on August 1, 2009 at Fordham University's Pope Auditorium (113 W. 60th Street, NYC).

Combining the sharp rhymes and lush melodies of classic musical theatre with the manic, off-kilter energy of Kiki & Herb, The Gay Agenda promises an evening of storytelling songs sure to delight and offend the twisted, sentimental show queen in all of us. THE GAY AGENDA'S Great Big Broadway Show! will be performed on March 25th at 8pm and will run the last Wednesday of the month at The Players Theatre.
